Develop this essential skill with a Paddle Canada certified rolling instructor.
Rolling is essential for self rescue in rough water. It is just one of those skills.... some people find it easy and others toil for hours and sometimes months to master this skill. Join one of our rolling workshops to master this essential skill to help your progression from intermediate to advanced paddler. You will receive 1 to 1 instruction and that means the instructor will be in the water next to you, supporting you in every step. Providing encouragement by being close which also avoids the need for you to continuously having to wet exit during practice.
During the lesson we revisit correct 'bracing' techniques which are essential for safe reaction and recovery, setting you up for the perfect roll.
Despite our track record being high for successfully assisting individuals to get their roll we cannot guarantee it for everybody. But rest assured you will leave the session having improved your paddling techniques with an insight to being one step closer to getting your roll. Participants will leave the workshop encouraged to practice drills and with a video to aid improvement.
*Price includes kayak & wet suit if required
Skill Level Required
Anyone can learn to roll a sea kayak. However we prefer to take students who are able to demonstrate good paddling skills and rescue techniques. There is no value in running before you can walk!
