Blue Dog Kayaking offers novice paddlers the most extensive and flexible skills training program available.
Based from one of our paddling centers at Mill Bay or Port Sidney paddlers have over 30 courses to choose from in 2020. Seeking to provide choice and flexibility we allow our students can spread the two days over multiple weekends plus up –grade from the one day basic skills by registering for the 2nd day of L1 with out having to take the FULL course.
Activities focus on safety and gaining the paddling and seamanship skills necessary for a day trip within a sheltered bay along a shoreline with easy landing opportunities.
The "core" paddling strokes, wet exits and proven rescue techniques make up day one of this excellent course. On day two participants will have the opportunity to pack a kayak with gear necessary for a comfortable a day trip and take part in group trip planning, weather interpretation, navigation and risk assessment. A full resource pack, manual and joining instructions are available on registration.
Loaded with learning and fun, this course is MUST for any new paddler or Kayakers wishing to re-visit skills.

Dry Suit is provided on all winter and shoulder season courses free of charge and is available to rent on all summer courses for $50
