Join us on a 3 day SUP tour to the Gulf Islands National Park.
Our experienced and knowledgeable guides will take you on an adventure to remember as we explore the wonderful Gulf Island National Park. The park is a great paddling location as the Gulf Islands are one of the most beautiful and accessible archipelagos in the world. Paddling distances are short, scenery is varied, and, despite the close proximity, civilization seems worlds away.
The wildlife that inhabits these wonderful Islands and its water ways can be spectacular and varied; Eagles and seabirds swirl in the skies above the Salish Sea, sheltered, islet-dotted waters teeming with seals, otters, orcas and pods of porpoises. Enjoy paddling in this paradise which boasts a rare eco-systems basking in a Mediterranean-like climate. The Gulf Islands are laced with trails leading to mountaintop viewpoints, lighthouses, and reminders of First Nations and pioneer pasts, while their shores and lagoons are a haven for thriving bird life, at low tide the inter-tidal life is truly amazing so you have the makings for a grand wildlife outing while barely leaving your launch site.
Departing from our Paddling Center at Port Sidney Marina these guided tours are idea for paddleboarders with some previous experience, therefore we offer a training "combo". This offers the paddler an additional one or two days training before the trip where participants can gain the skills and knowledge required plus the Paddle Canada Advanced Flat Water Skills certification.
We have many trip options on these tours as the park offers 10 back-country camping areas with approximately 100 back-country camp sites across eight different islands. Seven camping areas are accessible by water only.
Skill Level Required
The Gulf Islands are not very exposed and new paddlers will enjoy the experience. A Paddle Canada Advanced Flatwater Skills certification or equivalent is quite adequate to join one of our Gulf Islands Expeditions.
