We are committed to the training and development of new Instructors and Instructor Trainers as they are the future of our program
As an alternative to an instructor course, Instructor Candidates can earn certification through mentorship, Instructor Trainers can only earn certification through the mentorship process. This entails working as an apprentice instructor or IT on a minimum of two appropriate courses. An Apprentice Instructor is a qualified assistant instructor who also holds the required prerequisites for the certification of their apprenticeship and is working under the direct supervision of a qualified instructor trainer.
Typically, during the first of two courses, the apprentice participates as a helpful assistant. Following successful participation in the first course the apprentice participates in a second course and undertakes greater leadership responsibilities. Upon successful completion of both courses, the apprentice may earn the appropriate certification.
We are excepting applications from interested instructors for the following programs;
Paddle Canada Basic Instructor Trainer
Paddle Canada Level 1 Instructor Trainer
Paddle Canada Level 3 Instructor
Applicants will be assessed and awarded mentorship based on certification prerequisites, experience and merit. Where an applicant is mentoring on an existing Blue Dog course they will not be charged for mentorship, nor will they receive payment. Applicants will be responsible for their own expenses.
In the event that the applicant has organized their own course a daily fee plus expenses will be charged by the Instructor Trainer.
